Bean brings home a top-ten finish at The Dells Raceway Park
08-08-2009 - With a weekend off from his typically busy race schedule Dexter Bean decided to pull out his No. 25 Super Late Model that has been in storage for the last three years, and take it to The Dells Raceway Park. The last time Bean ran the No. 25 at The Dells he won the Wisconsin Challenge Series North American Cup 100. This past weekend Bean once again visited victory lane.
Bean started sixth in the heat race and in 10 short laps he was declared the winner after a three wide battle for first place coming out of turn three. The victory was short lived as the feature was still ahead.
Bean qualified in the seventh starting position for the 50 lap feature event. To keep the field on even playing grounds, since Bean had four fresh tires, he was forced to start in the 15th position. After fighting a loose car all night, Bean brought the No. 25 home with a very respectable ninth place finish.
“It was great to be back to short track racing again,” said Bean, driver of the No. 25 super late model. “It was especially nice to be so close to home where my friends and family could come watch and enjoy the races.”
Bean’s next race will be in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, at Bristol Motor Speedway, on Saturday, August 22, 2009. Qualifying for the Sharpie 500 will take place on Friday, August 21, 2009, at 5:40 p.m. ET.
